How to Use an Instant Pot?

Here are the fundamentals of using an Instant Pot, presuming you already own one. Look into our  pressure cooker sales if you don’t already own one.

The first step in using an Instant Pot is to place the ingredients inside. Then, secure the lid and turn the valve to the sealing position. To adjust cooking time, choose “Manual” (or another cooking option; see below) and then use the plus and minus buttons. It takes 30 minutes to cook by default.

The Instant Pot will ding when the cooking time is up and automatically transition to “Keep Warm.” It’s up to you now whether to leave it on Keep Warm or to turn off the heat. Change the valve setting from “sealing” to “venting” to let the pressure out. Turning the valve to venting immediately after the cooking time is over is a rapid release; allowing the pressure to release naturally takes longer, but results in a more tender and flavorful meal (this could take about 20-30 minutes).

In addition to pressure cooking, the Instant Pot has a few other uses. Some examples are slow cooking, producing yoghurt, steaming, and sautéing or browning. The Instant Pot’s interface divides these capabilities into their respective buttons. Read the instructions to learn how to use each feature.
