Is Walmart Open on Thanksgiving 2022? Find Out Store Hours

Is Walmart Open on Thanksgiving 2022 – Running errands on the day before a huge holiday celebration is always a gamble, as anyone who has ever hosted a large gathering can tell you. This is why the brine for the turkey is made a week in advance and the table setting is completed a few days before Thanksgiving! Even the most seasoned hosts may find themselves needing to Google “Walmart Thanksgiving hours” in a panic if they realise they are missing an essential ingredient or the tablecloth has a hole in it. (Unless you’re Ree Drummond; she claims that her simplified Thanksgiving supper a few years ago was so relaxing that she almost dozed off while stirring the gravy. What a fantastic hostess!

Since many businesses have changed their policy in the last couple of years, it will be even more vital in 2022 to know which ones will be open on Thanksgiving. Last-minute Christmas shopping is often a frenzy, so it’s best to get all your paper towels and Thanksgiving dessert fixings early.

Now, it’s almost certain that this is the case: Walmart recently announced a permanent change to their holiday hours in 2021, so you can put away your car keys.

So is Walmart closed for Thanksgiving?

The 2022 Thanksgiving holiday will not find Walmart open for business. Stores across the country will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, just as they were in 2020 and 2021.

According to Dacona Smith, Walmart U.S.’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, “our employees make the difference,” and never has that been more true than it is right now. To show our appreciation for our employees’ hard work and dedication, we will be closing all of our stores on Thanksgiving.

Walmart will still be open on Wednesday for regular hours, so if you forget something Tuesday, you can get what you need. In addition, Walmart has stated that it would begin offering discounts on popular gift categories beginning on October 1, and that customers will have until January 31, 2023 to return items purchased on or after October 1. So, you may space out your Christmas buying throughout the year.

We’ll keep you posted when more information becomes available, but for now, it’s probably best to go ahead and stock up on Thanksgiving tableware and fixings. Keep in mind that you’ll need a few specific ingredients to make Ree’s famous pecan pie.

Is Walmart doing Black Friday on Thanksgiving day?

Somewhat, but not entirely. You won’t be able to get your hands on those deeply priced televisions and other goods on Thanksgiving since stores will be closed. Black Friday Deals for Days, an event that allows Walmart+ subscribers early access to sales throughout the month of November, is, however, returning this year. Each week in November leading up to Cyber Monday, buyers may find fresh offers both online and in stores. This begins on November 7 and continues through November 9. That’s great news since it means you’ll have extra time to shop for presents for your pals.

Will Walmart be closed every Thanksgiving going forward?

The company hasn’t confirmed either way, but that’s the general feeling. For the first time in more than three decades, the retail giant closed on Thanksgiving 2020, putting an end to the annual ritual of Americans gorging on turkey while watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade and getting a head start on Black Friday doorbuster sales. (This format was also used by Target for their Thanksgiving hours.) As a gesture of appreciation to its staff for their dedication during the COVID-19 pandemic, Walmart will once again close all of its stores in the United States in 2021. Dacona Smith, then-executive vice president and chief operating officer of Walmart U.S., said in a statement that their employees had been “heroic” throughout the pandemic in their efforts to serve customers and communities. We pray that everyone will take this time to be with their loved ones.

Thanksgiving Day has traditionally been Walmart’s busiest shopping day of the year. The 2019 Black Friday sale began in stores at 6 p.m. local time on Thanksgiving Day, with many deals also available online beginning several days prior.
There were dozens of other stores in even more precarious positions than Walmart was when it made the decision to close on a crucial day. The devastating effects of COVID-19 on stores combined with the relentless growth of online shopping has led to a long list of businesses going out of business over the past few years. Michael Lasser, a retail analyst at UBS, predicted in April 2021 that 50,000 U.S. stores could close for good within the next five years. (On the bright side, that’s better news than the original estimate of 80,000.) Another problem many stores are having with stock this holiday season is shipping delays from around the world.

But don’t worry, regular business hours will be maintained at Walmart and Sam’s Club on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving (November 25). When it comes to the day after Thanksgiving, also known as “Black Friday,” the retailer will have the same sales as always. Black Friday Deals for Days is returning to Walmart, and as we mentioned before, Walmart+ members will have access to sales beginning even earlier. What’s more, it’s a great thing that we’ve thought of presents for all the women in your life.
